NorthUmberland Swim Club

Bring your kids down to the pool cul-de-sac for an afternoon of bounce-around fun, and grab a sno-cone while you’re there.

We really need some adult volunteers for this event. If you can help, please e-mail social@nusc.com.

Come sample your fellow membersʼ culinary achievements over dinner at poolside. This is a family event.

(Please note: The pool closes at 6:00pm, so there will be no lifeguard present. Therefore no swimming will be allowed.)

The diving board cracked and had to be removed. As with many DeKalb Co. codes, we were grandfathered in as long as that board was functional and we posted that it was not code compliant. Because the board broke and would have to be replaced, we would be required to bring the diving well up to code in order to do so. We are not in a position to do this at this time, but it is something that will be addressed in planning for capital improvements during the off-season.

Labor Day:

Our Stingrays finished the season with an impressive record of 4 wins and 1 loss, with the only loss coming against Briarmoor Manor.

The “battle” against our neighborhood rivals the Nottaway Newts was a close one, with our Stingrays beating them 366.5 to 371.5. This was one we have been waiting quite awhile for. The last time we were victorious against Nottaway was over 5 years ago!

We are looking for a member to assist us with our NUSC website.

We need assistance with some changes to the layout, as well as with the calendar and file attachments. Once these changes are made, there should hopefully be minimal assistance needed on an ongoing basis.

Ideally this person will know Drupal – the open source content management platform we use for the website. (If you are willing to help, but are not familiar with Drupal, that’s okay).

This opportunity is open to all members (including teens).

Volleyball will continue in the off-season as weather permits and as pool upgrade construction allows. All are welcome to meet Wednesdays at 7pm and Sundays at 3pm as long as the temp. is above 50 degrees and it is not storming.
